Overview

I cannot discuss my project work in detail due to an NDA, but I will highlight some of my roles and snapshots of my time at Gensler.

Role

  • Led qualitative and quantitative research to understand the workstyles of employees to inform workplace design and space allocation (i.e. XX amount of collaboration > XX square footage of meeting room space)
  • Created workplace employee archetypes and mapped out user journeys through the workplace to shape narratives around designs
  • Quantitatively mapped out square footage allocations to different space types (i.e. meeting rooms, desks, offices, etc.) to provide a strategy for interior designers to base floor plans on
  • Worked cross-functionally with architects and interior designers to translate research insights and space requirements into floor plans and spatial designs
  • Facilitated visioning sessions with client stakeholders to establish the design vision for their future office

Impact

  • Led research that mapped out and informed the design of a 625,000 square foot new build campus for Verizon Media (Yahoo & AOL) for ~2,500 employees
  • Researched and authored a white paper exploring how 5G will impact the future of work through mixed reality meetings and IoT workplaces
  • Built a workplace strategy toolkit to be implemented across 7 international sites of a major tech company
  • Created a space allocation program for a major financial company headquarters new build skyscraper in New York City to test proposed food service space concepts
  • Won funding and an award at a company-wide New Ventures Challenge where I led a team of strategits and designers in pitching a mobile app for civic engagement in urban areas
